Memorial Day
The day before Memorial Day, Megan and Jayce spent the night at Grandma Georgia's and Papa Dave's so the following day, on Memorial Day, they met us at Bower's Mansion in Washoe Valley. We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and did a lot of playing.
We hit some balls and played catch.
Good catch Megan!
Jayce was telling us where he was going to hit the ball.
The kids enjoyed walking through the brush chasing squirels.
Grandma Georgia bought the kids water guns. I wonder if she regretted that being that she and Grandpa got squirted the most.
Grandpa got Colton back with his "special" squirt gun.
Jayce found a huge tree to climb. Can't see him when he's climbing though because the branches are so big on the tree.
We enjoyed watching this woodpecker make holes in this tree. Below you can see holes large enough for the woodpecker to hide in and he did.
Before we left the park and were rained out, we took the small hike up Bowers Grave Trail to see the Bowers family cemetery.
When we got back to Dayton we went to the park and flew kites. The wind was perfect for it. We ended up chasing Jayce's kite because he wanted his kite to be the highest in the sky and he let all his string out and the end wasn't tied on to the holder. The next thing you know a big wind came up and took Megan's kite and we had to chase it too. All the while Colton was holding on and flying his kite with no problems. He was acting like he was driving it, and one time he was riding the string like a pony.

Looks like you guys had a blast, sorry we missed you.
Jayce looks like he is channeling his inner babe Ruth in that one shot...too cute!
