Not sure if I spelled Scheels correctly or not but what a fun place! For those of you who have never heard of it before, Scheels is a very large sporting goods store, similar to Cabelas but larger. It opened in Reno/Sparks last fall. There is a ton of stuff for the kids to do while the parents are supposedly shopping. Well, not us. We were playing with the kids. We were there over 4 hours just playing. We were greeted by life size athletes ready to play with us when we entered the store.

There were two huge fish tanks that stood as archways for people to walk under. One was a salt water tank and the other was a fresh water tank. We missed feeding time but you can see the fish here eating lettuce. Colton loved to watch the fish.

There were a couple shooting galleries. One was a computerized deer hunt.

There was a simulated race car to ride in and interactive sports games to play where if, for example, the kids wanted to play soccer they kick the ball at a screen that looks like a goalie and net and the kids try to make a goal or pitch the ball and try to strike the player out etc. The kids also spent time playing on play ground equipment, sliding and climbing a rock wall.
In the middle of the store and two stories high was a Ferris wheel. Colton wasn't big enough. Jayce said it was too high and Blake was more than happy to stay with the boys and take pictures.

We also visited with past presidents of The United States and wrestled with wild animals.

But the kids seemed to enjoy this ride the most, especially Jayce.

It was a fun and inexpensive way to spend the day!

Cool. Gary's been asking me when we were going to go. Maybe when our home improvement project is over, we'll do this to celebrate!
I have heard this place is awesome. I didn't realize all they had to offer. We will have to make a trip of it and go.
That is the coolest store! We were there not too long ago. Had a blast! Katy
