Like many people that we know, the kids have been sick. Jayce actually got sick last Thursday night and today, a week later is finally starting to get better. All the kids are being treated for strep throat. For some reason all our kids are super susceptible to it. The strange thing is that we think it started with Colton. That's unusual because he doesn't go to school or day care. And Megan...she doesn't even have tonsils! Didn't we have her tonsils removed last Fall so she wouldn't get strep anymore? I guess she's in that 1 percent group that may still get it even without tonsils. The surgery wasn't a 100% guarantee just 99% that she wouldn't get it again. She did bounce back sooner than the others.
On top of strep, Jayce has what I call an eye critter. It is a strange blood mole that started growing out of the inside of his lower eye lid. It all started with a scratch on his eye that he got back around Christmas. When the scratch went away, left behind, was a red dot that grew and grew and keeps growing. Jayce said, "Maybe it will get so big it will pop."
And sure enough, the night before last, he woke up in the night with blood on his pillow and under his eye. The next morning, he decided he wanted to pull it off since he says it doesn't hurt and he can't feel it. He tugged on it and that was the wrong thing to do. Blood gushed down his cheek and we had a hard time getting it to stop bleeding. Now most of the darn thing is black. It's like it's dying but underneath I can see a couple new ones starting. 
When I took Jayce to the pediatrician for his throat I had her look at the critter. In her 25 or so years of being a doc she has never seen anything like it so we were referred to an eye doc. The same day of the "explosion" Jayce came down with a severe head cold. Poor guy. Anyway, not sure if the cold caused extra fluid to build up in the critter which ultimately made it burst. Yesterday the poor kid looked abused with his black eye thing and red face, nose and mouth from wiping his nose for 2 days. The eye with the critter kept running big tears and he kept asking me if it was bleeding or not.

I hope your family is almost to the better side. Aspen keeps asking when Jayce and Colton are going to come and play.
Ick, I bet the eye critter bursting wasn't much fun. Hope you get some answers from the eye doctor.
