Canning

This year we had so many cucumbers and tomatoes we were giving them away so they didn't go bad. I canned cucumber relish, salsa and spaghetti sauce. I have a sink full of green and red tomatoes that I picked when we had the cold mornings a couple days ago that froze my plants. I heard they will eventually turn red but did find a recipe for green tomato salsa that I think I'll try. What have you done with your green tomatoes?

Mama's giving haircuts? What?!

Look at these handsome boys. Me, giving haircuts? I never would have thought it (except for that brief time I thought I was going to attend beauty school). It was scary. We bought a new set of clippers that came with scissors and combs. I started with Jayce since his hair is more forgiving. I had the longest guard on and oops!...were those his bangs? Obviously went too short on top so next time won't be using clippers up there. Too scared to use clippers on Colton so stuck to scissors. Megan wanted a trim since I was cutting the boys. A straight line trim across her back was very hard and I had to stop before she wasn't long anymore. My girlfriend who cuts hair said she would give me a lesson or two. Blake was asking when I can cut his hair. I told him not to cancel his hair appointment.

Shopping day...ugh!

I hate grocery shopping so I plan meals for a month and shop accordingly. As you can imagine it ends up being a pretty long shopping day. Anyway, Walmart was the first stop. Two hours and two shopping carts later, I knew the boys were through shopping when I hear myself saying..."when you see me heading to the check stand to pay for everything you will know I am done, so quit asking me." The highlight of that shopping trip was while I was looking for veggies in the produce section. I looked back at the boys by the cart and see Colton holding a cantaloupe over his head ready to chuck it at Jayce. Colton had the "I'm gonna get you look" and Jayce was ducking. I think even a couple shoppers were trying to get out of the way. Phew! I intervened just in time. "Now get in the van. We're going to Costco!" Alright, the picture doesn't really go with the post. He is in a shopping cart but obviously not at Walmart. I forgot to take a picture of my rugrats and the overflowing carts. This cute little boy couldn't possibly cause trouble could he?

Fun with Grandpa and Granny Clark

Blake's parents were able to come for Megan's baptism and stay a few days.

We celebrated Grandpa Clark's birthday.

The kids sure love Gramps! On Monday, we took the scenic route to Reno via Virginia City and passed some wild horses right next to the road. We had to stop and look.

We took them to Scheels to play and see the animals.

Blake got a picture of all of us riding the ferris wheel. Megan and Gramps are behind Stephanie and boys. Blake and Granny did not ride.

Megan's baptism

Megan was baptized on September 5, 2009 with her friend, Dane. She was baptized and confirmed by her dad. She was supported by many family members and friends. Grandma and Grandpa Page, Grandma and Grandpa Clark, Aunt Katy and Cousin Joey, Aunt Valerie and cousins JT, Kaylen, and Sam and Dick and Judy Lowther were her extra special family/friends that were able to attend. Many of our ward members/friends were able to attend too. She had been looking forward to her baptism day for weeks and was very excited it was finally here but very sad when it was over. Thanks to all for making her feel loved and her baptism day special.

No more training wheels for Jayce

Jayce has learned to ride his bike without training wheels with not much trouble. It took 4 days, but, he had little patience learning to ride. He kept saying he already knew how and that I should just let go. Only one big wreck and a few small ones and he was off on his own and calling his friend to tell her the news. Now he wants to ride all the time. Colton on the other hand, needs more practice with the training wheels. He's not very interested.
